AI Privacy Risk Checker

Select the kinds of information you plan to include. The checker gives a practical risk level and safer next steps. It runs in your browser and does not send your selections anywhere.

What does your prompt include?
Choose the information types above, then run the checker.

How to use the result

This tool is a practical guide, not legal advice. If your prompt includes regulated, confidential, or customer data, use an approved tool and follow your organization policy before pasting anything.

What the checker is designed to catch

The risk checker focuses on the details that people most often paste without noticing: identifiers, customer records, employee information, contracts, credentials, unreleased business plans, and financial context. A prompt can look harmless when read quickly, but one name, invoice number, private link, or exact figure may be enough to expose more than the task requires.

The result is intentionally conservative. A low-risk result does not mean every output is correct, and a high-risk result does not mean AI can never be used. It means the prompt should be rewritten, sanitized, or moved into an approved workplace tool before any real data is shared.

Use it as a review step

  1. Start by selecting every type of information that appears in the text you plan to paste.
  2. Read the risk reasons, then remove anything the AI does not need to complete the task.
  3. Replace real names, account details, and exact numbers with roles, ranges, or fictional examples.
  4. If regulated or confidential data remains, stop and use the policy-approved process for that material.

This page is an educational checklist, not legal, privacy, security, medical, or compliance advice. It cannot know your contracts, local laws, account settings, or employer policy.

Common questions

Does this tool send my answers anywhere?

No. The checker runs in the browser using the choices on the page. It is designed as a local decision aid, not as a data collection form.

What should I do with a high-risk result?

Rewrite the prompt with fictional examples, remove identifiers, or use an approved workplace tool with the right data protections. If regulated data remains, ask the responsible person before using AI.

Why can public information still need checking?

Public information is usually lower privacy risk, but an AI answer can still be outdated, incomplete, or misread. Privacy risk and factual accuracy are separate checks.
